Lab 5

Show work for Worksheet question 1 & 6: show your work for calculating only ONE mean, standard deviation, and variance.
Copy the numbers you got from the walk-though worksheet for your table on question one of your GRADED worksheet (p. 65).
Round your FINAL answer numbers to the 2nd digit, if you want. Don't round before your final answer, or else your final answer may be off.

Data analysis.

- Know these general ideas, not their formulas.
- Scientific method: Hypothesis (educated guess that makes a prediction). Data collection and analysis. Evaluation of hypothesis (compare results with the prediction that the hypothesis makes; support or reject the hypothesis).
- Population and sample. Average, median, standard deviation. Confidence interval.
- Dependent and independent variable -- the hypothesis' prediction will usually include an independent variable and a dependent variable. Positive and negative correlation.
